Christmas Fair Fund 2012

If you live in the Ballito area, you would have heard the buzz surrounding the Christmas Fair Fund this past week. Held annually at Collisheen Estate to raise funds for various charities, each stall holder donated a portion of their sales per day. I set up shop with my little babe close beside me and  we enjoyed a two-day affair despite a few weather hiccups. I am so proud of all the ladies who braved the wind and the mud to sell their goods and support a great cause.

Wish you were there? Here are a few photos of our stand. I shared a marquee with incredibly talented and entrepreneurial woman including Bonnie from Vintage Belle, Kirsty from KiLiMa and Wendy from Kaliko.

New product: Hair bows

I am humbled to be able to say that my childhood was full of love and laughs. My mom gave so much of her time and talents to make sure I always had the best of what she could give me. She put down her paintbrush and instead spent time sewing little outfits and matching hair bows.

This new design is dedicated entirely to her. Pretty hair bows, but for ladies in 10 different colourways in bolds, pastels and prints. The lovely CC took some product shots last week that I will share, but here is a little snap shot i took in my workroom and sweet Nadia has also included us on her 'Seven Things' post.

Work + Play

I've been pottering around as of late. A little designing here (working on my summer collection) and a little stockist check up there, and so on. My wonderful assistant has been keeping me up-to-date with my orders so I can do the most important bit of all: cuddle this darling newborn of mine. Here's to running a creative business from home! Work + play.

New design: Zipper brooches

The lovely Lauren from Mooi suggested I turn my latest Zipper headband into a brooch design. Perfect for Winter coats - what a clever thing she is! Before I deliver them to stockists this week, I wanted to give you a little sneak peek. Enjoy!

New design: Shell Teardrop earrings

My greatest goal when working on a new design is for it to transcend age as much as possible. Current, but still chic and pulled-together-enough for a more classic look. I am very pleased with how these have turned out, and as always they are finished with sterling silver earwire. Stocked in shops as of June, but currently available online here or here.

It's the time of the season for loving

My husband and I had the privilege of being married and living our first year together on the island of Mauritius. We were welcomed into an incredibly special family of friends and each and every one of them have a huge place in my heart, including Rachel.

A few months back she e-mailed over measurements and a few design elements that she wanted to incorporate in her wedding jewellery. I am thrilled to be a small part of her day and only wish I could have been there in the front seats.

The Bride is wearing: Silver & pearl cluster earrings paired with a triple-strand irregular pearl bracelet designed to compliment Rachel's gorgeous lace gown.

Kristi Kyle online shop!

I have been working on my local website {ZAR currency} for what seems like forever, but the good news is that it's finally live! Excited? Yes! This is my first online store so I am sure there will be a bit of trial & error, but I can promise that each and every order will be monitored with care and I will be prompt to reply any e-mail queries.

To celebrate, all online orders placed in the month of March will receive 20% off by entering the Discount Code: MARCH20. As of this very moment pages are stocked with an assortment of hair accessories including the latest zipper design but keep popping by for jewellery listings later this month.

Happy shopping!

 {INTERNATIONAL purchases can still be made through my Etsy store}

New stockist: Vintage Baby

Vintage Baby Boutique in Umhlanga is run by two lovely ladies who have a soft spot for baby (through to young children) designer clothing and nursery equipment. Their boutique provides a really unique selection quite different to what you normally see about town. I dropped off my first order of newborn & little girl headbands on Saturday and am happy to be a small part of stocking such a sweet shop.

They have a stand at the Wonder Market this Sunday, 4th March, so make sure you stop by and say hi!

And while we're talking brides...

Here is a peek at another tailored bridal order I made in October for a very special childhood friend.

Bride: Darling teardrop earrings paired with a silver & fresh water pearl necklace.
Bridesmaids: Lacey necklaces in charcoal grey with satin ruffle clips for their hair.
Flower girl: My absolute favourite part of the design was a bespoke hairpiece for her beautiful daughter. I used her wedding colour palette of baby blue & grey and incorporated a piece of polka ribbon from the invitations, pearls and hand-made rosettes.

A beautiful Mauritian bride

A few photos of a pearl bracelet I designed for one of the sweetest & most beautiful brides to wear on her wedding day in Mauritius last November.
